I am proud to announce my painting, “Paris Street Shadows” has been accepted into the Southern Watercolor Society’s 38th Annual Exhibition. This show includes entries from all of the southern states: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.

I had purchased a special bark paper in my favorite historical, Paris art store, Sennelier – no saving of whites in this one. The paper had a lot of great, natural texture and it was fairly dark. The challenge of this painting was to make the texture work with the painting’s design. I used a touch of iridescent acrylic in the sky area.

The exhibition will be at the Customs House Museum in Clarksville, Tennessee, May 8 – July 5, 2015. www.customshousemuseum.org
