You will encounter stunning views of the Umbrian and Tuscan countrysides. Some highlights will be a tour of Montepulciano, incredible sunsets and vistas, pottery, gourmet dinners and local wines, hilltop, old world villages, including the famous village of Cortona, and never-ending painting sights.
Daily, you will have several options – painting, sketching or photographing; shopping and touring or just relaxing at your own pace. You may paint in ANY MEDIUM. The choice will be yours. Most of my demos will be in watermedia.Travel to sites will be no longer than one hour. Non-painters are most welcome!

who is Italian/English speaking has spent a major part of his childhood in Naples and Sicily. He has 25 years of experience running his own businesses, is a keen painter, and will be available throughout your stay. Relax and let him take care of everything while you paint.
Jann Pollard, NWS will be the instructor. Open to all levels of artists and in any medium. We will be capturing the moment through photos, sketches and small, plein air paintings. Jann has led tours in various locations since 1997.

ITINERARY
Day 1:Pick up at Rome airport (Fiumincino) in the late morning.
Travel to our home base Villa Nobile, Cortona, where you will have time to relax and freshen up, followed by an Informal evening to meet the tutor and the rest of the group, talk about the workshop and what you wish to achieve in the week ahead, Relax and enjoy a gourmet dinner at the villa.
Day 2: We will spend the day doing some painting exercises at the villa studio, and getting to know our equipment. A trip to Cortona and all of its marvelous vistas and hilly streets will be a great introduction to some of the wonderful sites we will be going to during the week.
Day 3 – 7 Days may include possible locations in Umbria and Tuscany – *Montepulciano, Pienza, Montichiello, Lake Trasimeno,Orvieto, Anghiari, spectacular Tuscan vistas and much more. Your week will be a balance of travel to sites, shopping, scouting, dining, photographing, sketching, painting and much fun!
Day 8: Departure to Rome airport (Fiumincino) after breakfast. (May 7).
**If you are also attending the Lake Como workshop the week of May 9 – 16, you will be treated to two nights at the villa on May 7 and 8, and then you will be driven from Lake Como to the Milan Airport on May 16, the end of the Lake Como workshop. OPTION 1: Great discounts of 15% will apply to the Umbria/Tuscany workshop when you elect to do both Lake Como and Umbria/Tuscany. If you include this option, your second tour will end at the Milan airport. You will be driven by minibus from Villa Nobile to Lake Como on May 9, after stopping at the Milan airport to pick up others (about 6 hours). AND as a special extra incentive when you do both tours, your accommodation on May 7 and 8 is included. Lunch and dinner for these two nights will be additional, probably going to a local restaurant.
